Dar Loughat es un centro profesional de idiomas ubicado en Marruecos, que ofrece durante todo el año cursos intensivos para todos los niveles, tanto del árabe moderno estándar como del árabe dialectal marroquí.

Fundada en 2004, en pleno centro de la ciudad de Tetuán al norte de Marruecos, la escuela Dar Loughat ha conseguido, en este breve tiempo, una notable reputación como centro intercultural en el mundo árabe.

La ciudad de Tetuán, declarada por la UNESCO patrimonio mundial de la humanidad, destaca por su ubicación estratégica: a menos de sesenta kilómetros al sur de Algeciras (España) y a sesenta kilómetros al oeste de Tánger. El tamaño de Tetuán permite a los estudiantes su fácil y rápido conocimiento y la integración en la cultura local de una ciudad célebre por su hospitalidad y tolerancia.

Durante tu estancia académica, puedes gozar de las excelentes playas que ofrece la costa de Tetuán (consideradas como las mejores de toda la zona mediterránea), así como de una medina (casco antiguo) con cinco siglos de historia. También puedes disfrutar de las numerosas excursiones programadas por la escuela a las montañas del Rif, verdes y ricas en paisajes naturales y que se extienden a lo largo de una cordillera de 500 kilómetros que va desde Tetuán hasta el este del país.

La escuela está equipada con material audio-visual y nuevas tecnologías y dispone de conexión inalámbrica WIFI a Internet.

La flexibilidad de las fechas de comienzo (todos los lunes del año sin interrupción alguna) y de la duración de los cursos (desde una semana hasta un año académico entero o más) permiten la asistencia de los alumnos en cualquier época del año.

En Dar Loughat, las clases se imparten a grupos reducidos de entre tres a un máximo de ocho alumnos para mejor asimilación y entendimiento. La escuela ofrece una amalgama de actividades culturales y excursiones para que el alumno aproveche al máximo su experiencia en el extranjero.

A lo largo del año, la escuela acoge a numerosos estudiantes procedentes de cualquier lugar del mundo, que acuden a aprender el árabe y a descubrir el rico y extraordinario legado cultural marroquí.

Profesores políglotas altamente cualificados y con gran experiencia imparten con entusiasmo clases de árabe dedicadas exclusivamente a no nativos. Todas las clases se imparten en árabe, salvo en las de los principiantes donde se usa de forma mínima la L1 (lengua materna) para iniciarles.

A través de varias actividades de intercambio e inmersión, Dar Loughat, ofrece a sus alumnos un contacto permanente con el estilo de vida marroquí, permitiéndoles enriquecer su vocabulario, mejorar su competencia en el lenguaje hablado y desarrollar el entendimiento de la cultura local.

Although it is not used for interpersonal communication in any of the Arab-speaking countries, learning MSA before any of the several spoken regional and local dialects which vary considerably from area to area provides learners with two advantages. First, a good foundation in MSA facilitates the acquisition of any dialect a learner might wish to learn later. Second, unlike local dialects, MSA is readily understood anywhere in the Arab world. Our MSA program is tailored to meet the needs of all students interested in learning or improving Standard Arabic. It provides them with the necessary knowledge and training to acquire full and clear understanding of the Arabic language system. The MSA program consists of three levels of studies; each level is divided into three successive and progressive sublevels. The system of levels in this program is structured according to the U.S. university system and to the guidelines of our European and international partner institutions. In order to better meet the needs of all our students, our teachers were trained to teach with all the best MSA language textbooks available today, such as “Al-Kitaab fii Ta'allum al-'Arabiyya”, which is our main textbook, “Ahlan Wa Sahlan” and “Al-Arabiya al-Mu’asira”.

While most CMA words find their root in MSA, a part of the lexical is borrowed from Spanish, French and Berber. Depending on students interest, CMA may be taught utilizing either Arabic or Latin script, though the former is highly recommended to make life easier with daily tasks such as reading signs and getting around. Like the MSA program, this program consists of three levels of studies.

Dar Loughat is a fantastic place!

I took a four week course in summer 2007. It was my first time in Morocco and my first time in a Muslim country at all. I wanted to start learning Arabic from the very beginning and get to know a new culture. Fair course fees and apparently a private atmosphere had largely influenced my choice for this school compared to others for example in Damascus.

Dar Loughat surpassed my expectations by far! It was a truly magnificent experience!
Dar Loughat does not only provide quality Arabic lessons in small groups, but really immerses you into the Moroccan culture. Staying in a Moroccan host family is the best you can ever do!
Dar Loughat stands out for its open atmosphere and the stuff caring so much about every single student! Various weekend activities and evening events compensate for the effort of learning such a hard language like Arabic.

One year after my first stay at Dar Loughat, I took part in an essay competition and won a week of free private Arabic lessons! It was just perfect after I had spent a semester abroad at Al Akhawayn University in central Morocco.

I'd really like to thank Zayd, Reda, Zineb and all the others who made this happen! I wish them all the best and will certainly come back every time I return to Morocco!
