Vienna's transport network is very efficient. There is an underground (U-Bahn), trams, buses and suburban rail network (Schnellbahn). Tickets are available at all tobacconists and at ticket offices in the underground stations. There are weekly tickets (EUR14), monthly tickets (EUR 49.50), daily tickets (EUR 5.70), "shopping tickets" (EUR 4.60 valid from Mon - Sat 8:00 am - 8:00 p.m.) and single tickets (EUR 1.70 when purchased in advance).

Tickets: Tickets valid for all public transport in Vienna (tube, tram or bus) are available at ticket offices and machines (Sunday, too!) at all tube stations and in all tobacconists (Trafik). Ticket machines accept coins and bills and return the change.
Day of arrival is normally Sunday. It is possible to consult with our booking office, and arrange an alternative day of arrival.
Taxi: You can take a taxi from the airport or railway station to your chosen accommodation. Price from the railway station: EUR 15 – EUR 20. Price from the airport: approx EUR 25 – EUR 40.
Bus: From the airport you should take the bus to the „Wien-Suedbahnhof“ station and then a taxi to your accommodation. The price of the bus is: EUR 6 one-way, EUR 11 return. Times of departure: every 30 minutes from 6.05 am to 0.05 pm. Length of trip: approx. 30 min.
Train: From the airport you should take the „City Airport Train“ to station Wien-Mitte – „City Air Terminal“ and then a taxi to your accommodation. Price of the train is EUR 8 one way, EUR 15 return. Time of departure: every 30 minutes from 6.05 am to 11.35 pm. Length of trip: 16 minutes. On departure you can check-in directly at Wien-Mitte – „City Air Terminal“. You stay with a host family in their own home. Accommodation in host families is definitely the best way of practising your German and getting to know Austria and its people outside of the classroom. Host families can be childless couples, parents with schoolchildren or older people whose grown-up children have already left home. Availability: year-round Meals: You may choose from use of the kitchen, substantial breakfast only or half board with a three-course lunch or evening meal. Facilities: You have your own single or twin room. You share the bathroom and the kitchen with your host family.
