The course includes 20 lessons per week in general English with additional lessons in intensive personal one-to-one or mini-group English. The courses allow students to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and to develop their vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Exam techniques and mock exams are also covered to help students achieve the best possible marks. Placement Fee: None Self Catering accommodation managed by NORTH WEST ACADEMY Self catering accommodation is only available for students who are 17 and over as you will be living independently. • Our residential accommodation is located in the City side no more then 30 minutes walk to the City centre and to the North West Academy offices. • All our residential accommodation has cooking and washing facilities. • Students share washing facilities with those people they share accommodation with. • There are no public phones in the accommodation. • Bed linen, duvets and pillows are provided on arrival. Towels will not be provided for hygiene reasons. • The kitchens are fully equipped and every accommodation has a washing machine. • Students will be expected to purchase their own washing powder. • Students might be asked to share a bedroom with a student of the same group and gender, but this is only by agreement. INSPECTION The accommodation managed by the North West Academy will be inspected every WEDNESDAY. A general inspection (common spaces) will be carried out weekly and a specific inspection (common spaces and bedrooms) will be carried out monthly. The inspection is carried out in order to: - maintain the accommodation - make sure the accommodation is kept cleaned and tidy - make sure that ONLY the students allowed are living in the inspected accommodation - make sure that the accommodation rules are respected (if not an investigation will be carried out) - collect comment and communication related to the accommodation from the students.

Placement Fee: None We at the North West Academy have many years experience of placing students in home-stay accommodation. All our home-stay providers are known to us, have been interviewed and the accommodation they offer is always inspected. Care is taken to ensure that the living environment is safe and domestic conditions are of a good standard. All of our home-stay providers have considerable experience in hosting students. We take great care to ensure that our records are constantly updated to record any changes in the home-stay providers’ circumstances (a new pet, baby, etc). It is therefore very important that you let us know if you have any special requirements that need to be taken into consideration for your home-stay placement. Home-stay is suitable for younger students who need to have the support of a caring home environment. Home-stay provides a higher level of support and supervision for younger students and is available all year around. No more than 4 students will stay in the same Home-stay. Students of the same nationality will not be lodged in the same home at the same time unless written consent of the students or parents/legal guardians is obtained before arrival. What you can expect from your home-stay provider: • To provide a welcoming and comfortable environment and ensure your welfare is always considered. • To help you understand Transport (bus and trains) and how to best get around the city. • To provide a clean room and good quality living conditions. • To allow access to communal areas. • To allow access to the bathroom as necessary and to have a shower each day. • To provide laundry service. • To provide a door key. • To provide the “meal plan” (Breakfast, Packed Lunch and Dinner).

I really enjoyed the North West Academy!During the programme i was working there as a social cordinator.It is a really nice memory never forgot.The company is amazing because everyone is very friendly and helpful.Derry is a beautiful place with lots of attractions.

I studied in North West Academy as a Leonardo da Vinci programme's student. The teacher is very kind, friendly and professional. Lessons and NWA's social activities are very interesting and allow to interact with people of different nationalities and cultures, as the school is a multicultural environment. The staff works hard to satisfy their students, welcoming people in a welcoming place I liked a lot. Derry is a good place to stay, not so huge but with its own social life: there's always something to do, some interesting events.
